Developers and builders
Real estate developers in Halifax and Atlantic Canada
Commercial Group Canada is a private room where developers and builders in the region meet the investors, lenders and consultants they build with. It is a network of people, not a directory of development companies.
Where do developers in Atlantic Canada meet capital partners?
In rooms where owners, investors and lenders already are. Commercial Group Canada is one of them: a private, by-application network of commercial real estate investors, owners, developers and selected professionals across Atlantic Canada, with invite-only evenings in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Developers and builders are one of the groups the network invites, alongside the investors and owners the room is primarily built for. "Developer / Builder" is one of the occupations on the application.
What developers use the network for
- Equity and joint venture partners. The room is built primarily for investors and owners. See how to find real estate investment partners.
- Construction and takeout financing. Lenders and mortgage brokers are among the professionals in the room. See raising capital for commercial real estate.
- The project team. Architects, engineers, construction managers, appraisers, lawyers and accountants who work on commercial projects in the region.
- Sites and land. Conversations about land and development opportunities that members choose to share. See how off-market deals move.
Looking for a list of Halifax developers?
You will not find one here. Commercial Group Canada does not publish a member list. The Urban Development Institute of Nova Scotia, the association that represents the province's development industry, is the place to look for who is active.
The development industry's own rooms
Developers in Nova Scotia have their own association and events, and they are worth your time:

- Atlantic Real Estate Forum. An annual commercial real estate conference at the Halifax Convention Centre. The next is on 17 March 2027.
- BOMA Nova Scotia. The Building Owners and Managers Association for the province. Its CRE Summit is in Halifax on 28 October 2026.
Commercial Group Canada is different in kind: smaller, private, free, and built primarily for investors and owners. Dated events are on the events page, and every group is compared in the guide to investor groups in Atlantic Canada.
