Where can I meet commercial real estate investors in Halifax?

The short answer: at Commercial Group Canada's invite-only evenings, at the events run by the industry associations, at the annual Atlantic Real Estate Forum, and at the open investor meetups. They do different jobs, and you can take part in more than one.

Commercial Group Canada is the private one: joined by application, commercial in focus, and built around the investors and owners themselves. Every application is reviewed for relevance and fit, so the balance of the room stays with the people doing the deals.

What the evenings are like

Each evening is a stand-up mixer at a private venue on the Halifax waterfront, over appetizers and drinks. It is come-and-go and business casual. The point is conversation: who is buying, building and financing what, who is looking for a partner, and who you should know.

The conversations cover multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, retail, land and development, on-market and off. Between evenings they continue in the members' deal room.

Who comes

The room is built primarily for active commercial real estate investors and owners. A limited number of professionals are invited because they add value to it: builders and developers, construction managers, lenders and mortgage brokers, commercial realtors, appraisers, architects, engineers, property managers, lawyers and accountants.

There is more for multifamily investors and apartment owners, for developers and for professionals.
