Privacy

Commercial Group Canada is a private network run by Riley Oickle with the Indi Mortgage Commercial Division. The only personal information we hold is what you give us when you apply or write to us, and it is used for one thing: running the group.

What we collect

When you apply to join, the form asks for:

your name, email address and phone number;
your occupation and, if you give it, your company;
an optional sentence about your portfolio or practice;
your consent to be contacted, with the time it was given.

The partnership form on the partners page asks for your name, email address and message and, if you give them, your phone number and company.

Both forms also record the connecting network address, which we use only to stop automated abuse of the form, and three things that tell us how people find the group: the page the form was sent from, the first page you opened on this site and the website that sent you here. Your browser holds those three for the length of your visit only, and they reach us only if you send a form.

Why we collect it

To review your application personally and reply to you, either way.
To send approved members invitations and the details of each evening, including the venue address, by email and by text message.
To send approved members the deal room invitation.
To contact you about your own application or enquiry if we have a question.

Your phone number is used for event-day texts and invitations only. We do not call you to sell anything.

How it is kept

Applications and enquiries are sent to us as email through Resend, an email delivery service, and kept in our mailbox. Applicants also receive a confirmation email the same way. We do not run a member database beyond that, and we do not store card details, because there is nothing to pay.

Who sees it

Applications are read by Riley Oickle and the Indi Mortgage Commercial Division team who help run the group. We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone else, and sponsors do not receive the member list.

The deal room

The deal room is a private WhatsApp group for approved members. If you accept the invitation, the other members can see your phone number, your WhatsApp name and photo, and what you post, as in any WhatsApp group. WhatsApp is run by Meta, and its own privacy policy applies to your use of it. You can leave at any time.

Photographs at the evenings

A photographer attends some evenings, and photographs may be shown on this website or in our invitations. If you appear in one and would rather not, email us and we will take it down.

Withdrawing, correcting or deleting

You can withdraw your consent, correct your details or ask us to delete your application at any time by emailing [email protected] or replying to any message from us. Text messages can be stopped by replying STOP.

This website

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. If we measure visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or personal identifiers. The site is hosted by Cloudflare.
