Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia's commercial real estate investor network
Commercial Group Canada is a private network of commercial real estate investors, owners and developers across Nova Scotia and the rest of Atlantic Canada. It is free, joined by application, and meets at invite-only evenings in Halifax.
Is there a real estate investment group in Nova Scotia?
Yes. Commercial Group Canada is a private, by-application network for people who invest in, own and develop commercial property in Nova Scotia: apartment buildings, mixed-use, industrial, retail, land and development. There is no fee. There are also open investor meetup groups in Halifax and Dartmouth and several industry associations, and they are compared below.
A word on what kind of group this is. Commercial Group Canada is a network of people. It is not an investment fund, it does not pool members' money, and it is not an industry association.
Members across the province, evenings in Halifax
Applications are welcome from anywhere in Nova Scotia: Halifax Regional Municipality, Cape Breton, Truro and Colchester County, the Annapolis Valley, the South Shore and beyond. What matters is that you do commercial real estate in the region and bring something to the table.
The in-person evenings are held in Halifax, three to four times a year. There are no chapters or events elsewhere in the province. Between evenings, the conversation continues in the members' deal room, wherever you are.
Nova Scotia's commercial real estate associations, and how a private network differs
Nova Scotia has well-established industry associations. They advocate for their sector, run education and hold trade events, and most charge membership dues. A private network does a different job: it puts investors and owners in a room with each other.
| Organization | Type | Who it is for | Joining |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commercial Group Canada | Private network. Invite-only evenings in Halifax and a members' deal room | Commercial real estate investors and owners first, with selected developers and professionals | Free, by application |
| Rental Housing Providers Nova Scotia | Industry association, established in 1978 and previously known as IPOANS | Rental property owners and managers, and their suppliers | Paid |
| BOMA Nova Scotia | Industry association (Building Owners and Managers Association) | Commercial building owners and managers, and their suppliers | Paid |
| Urban Development Institute of Nova Scotia | Industry association | The development industry: developers, builders, professionals and suppliers | Paid |
| Atlantic Women in Commercial Real Estate | Membership organization | Women in commercial real estate, and allies | Paid |
| Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS | Professional association | Licensed REALTORS, including commercial practitioners | For REALTORS |
| Open investor meetups | Three Meetup groups in Halifax and Dartmouth | Anyone interested in real estate investing | Open to all |
Details are from each organization's own website, checked on 12 October 2026. Real estate licensing in the province is regulated by the Nova Scotia Real Estate Commission, which is a regulator and not a membership association. The full comparison, with links to every group, is in the guide to investor groups in Atlantic Canada.
Deal flow in Nova Scotia
Commercial Group Canada does not list property. What it offers is the room: other owners, the brokers and lenders who see transactions early, and the conversations that follow. The off-market guide explains how that works and where the legal lines are.
